Facts About American Rescue Plan Support Grants in Minnesota

Funds from the American Rescue Plan, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, support monthly stabilization grants to child care programs in Minnesota. Here are a few facts from the federal Administration for Children and Families Office of Child Care (data through December 2022) :

 

  • 8,230 child care programs received support
  • 212,500 children potentially impacted
  • $324.2 million federal dollars spent
  • 100% of Minnesota counties received funds
  • $77,400 average awarded to child care centers
  • $8,400 average awarded to family child care programs

 

The grants are most commonly used by child care centers for personnel costs and by family child care programs for mortgage or rent payments.
