This workshop helps trainers increase their understanding of culturally responsive practices and gain practical tools for working across differences. It introduces the concept of culture as a tool, focusing on intercultural, relationship-based practices for communities and professionals. It is grounded in the culture of learning theory, based on the work of Dr. Mitchell R. Hammer author of the Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) and Intercultural Developmental Inventory (IDI) – assessment instruments used to build intercultural competence, and Dr. Milton J. Bennett’s Developmental Model for Intercultural Sensitivity – a framework to explain how people experience and engage in cultural difference.
