We work with the Minnesota Department of Human Services to regularly conduct a child care rate survey. The data collected impacts county child care reimbursement rates and is available as a resource for child care providers and parents.

Child Care Aware of America has released its 12th annual report on the cost of child care: The US and the High Cost of Child Care: A Review of Prices and Proposed Solutions for a Broken System, with the latest data on the state of child care affordability across the country. It also contains a fact sheet with county-by-county data for Minnesota. Compared to other states, Minnesota was ranked as one of the seven highest-cost states, although these costs vary by county and region, as well as by type of care and age of child.
