TRAINER AND RBPD SUPPORT

Trainers and RBPD Specialists Contract Announcement

The contract to support trainers and relationship-based professional development specialists has been awarded the University of Minnesota — Center for Early Education and Development (CEED).

In September 2020, the Department of Human Services sought proposals from qualified respondents to support trainers and relationship-based professional development (RBPD) specialists who serve early childhood educators. A competitive grant review process was conducted using criteria identified in the RFP notice, and a standardized scoring system was used to rate each application against the criteria.

Child Care Aware of Minnesota will be transferring the work it has done as the recipients of this contract over the past five years to CEED as of July 1, 2021. We commit to a smooth transfer to ensure that the hundreds of trainers, RBPD specialists, and other partners who have come to rely on us for support can experience a seamless transition.

As we move on, we want to thank our staff — Elsa Carlson, Matt Evans, and Alneida Madrigal — who have served the trainers, RBPD specialists, and our other partners so well, and wish them luck in their future roles. We will sincerely miss them and their gifts to our organization and to our field.

Starting on July 1, 2021, trainers and relationship-based professional development specialists can receive support by contacting Kristina Erstad-Sankey at CEED at erst0015@umn.edu or 612.625.6397.

All of Child Care Aware of Minnesota’s other professional development services will continue, including professional development advising, Eager-to-Learn and Anytime Learning trainings, and learning community offerings.
